Suspension Following Disciplinary Action

In the event that a registrant’s ability to practice has been suspended by the Inquiry or Discipline Committee:

  • The registrant’s status will be changed to “Suspended” in the public register
  • Public notice of the suspension, including the duration and reasons for same, will be posted on the College’s website
  • The College is required to notify all Canadian PT regulators of any suspensions or cancellations or limits made by order from the discipline committee
  • While suspended, the registrant must not practise physical therapy or assign physical therapy services or hold himself of herself out as a physical therapist entitled to practise

Once the suspension period has ended:

  • The registration status will be changed from “Suspended” back to the original registration status
  • As per the Health Professions Act, the College is required to maintain a history of disciplinary action
