The School of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario is conducting a research project titled, “The Canadian Dementia and Physical Therapy (CanADaPT) Project”. Their research team is comprised of Physical Therapy academics with an interest in older adult health from seven Canadian Schools of Physical Therapy. They are recruiting physical therapists to evaluate the clinical experience, confidence and attitudes amongst Canadian physical therapists towards working with people who have dementia. Their goal is to identify the needs of physical therapists to deliver effective patient-centered care for people with dementia.
They are recruiting people registered with a provincial College of Physical Therapy from across Canada and are not just seeking people whose practice currently involves working with people with dementia. They want to understand the current experiences, capacity and preparedness of physical therapists in general to work with people with dementia. This national survey involves the completion of an online survey. The questionnaire should take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You will participate anonymously. It can be completed anywhere you have access to the Internet. By completing the questionnaire, you are consenting to participate in the study.
