Information on Cannabis in the Workplace

The Occupational and Environmental Medical Association of Canada (OEMAC) recently published a position statement on the Implications of Cannabis Use For Safety Sensitive Work. As the impact of the legalization of cannabis on the workplace will unfold over the coming months and years the CPTBC is sharing this position statement as a resource for registrants who may want to develop workplace policies or consider how this issue impacts your practice. Some professions are taking the position that health care professionals should refrain from using cannabis for 24 hours prior to engaging in practice. This will be an issue that the CPTBC will explore further and we would welcome any thoughts registrants have on the topic. View the OEMAC statement.
