College bylaws are developed by the CPTBC Board of Directors in accordance with the Health Professions Act. They serve as the rules under which the College operates and are consistent with the duties and objects of the College.

On May 25, 2017, the CPTBC Board approved amendments to the current bylaws. As the amendments are extensive the College will ultimately repeal and replace our existing bylaws. A link to the new draft bylaws is available here.

Whenever a bylaw amendment is proposed CPTBC must provide notice to registrants, other health profession regulators and members of the public offering an opportunity to provide feedback. Registrant and stakeholder feedback is important as it provides insight into how the bylaws are interpreted. It also indicates to the Board and the Ministry of Health (MoH) where further clarification is required.

These proposed amendments will be posted on the CPTBC website for three months (until August 31, 2017) allowing adequate time for comments. All comments will be considered by both the College and the MoH. You may provide your comments directly to CPTBC and/or to the MoH. Contact information for both organizations is provided below.
